OBX Pride, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the cultural enrichment of our local community and vacationers. We produce our free, family-friendly annual Outer Banks Pride Festival annually drawing in nearly 1,000 tourists to the beaches of Dare County every year since we began in 2011.
OBX Pridefest celebrates our path toward a future free of discrimination where all people experience equal rights. We produce LGBTQIA+ Pride events across the Outer Banks that educate, inspire, and honor the diverse community we have on our sandbar.
Our events are a unique opportunity for our community to gather in support and solidarity. Each event represents how the Outer Banks acknowledge and advocate for our neighbors!
Pride in Giving Back
OBX Pridefest is funded entirely by grants and contributions from our community. Volunteers are essential to our organization and we rely on the help from our community to make events happen!
Allen Aldrige Memorial Scholarship
OBX Pridefest has always supported young people in our community. At our Saturday main Pride Festival event we enforce a family-friendly atmosphere for all daytime activities and sponsor events open to high school-age students.
We have also created the Allen Aldrige Memorial Scholarship awarding an outstanding member of Dare County High Schools Gay/Straight Alliance Club, to help fund college endeavors.
You may also consider becoming a sponsor, donating in your name, in honor, or memorial of a loved one to OBX Pride. A portion goes towards giving back to our community and supporting local nonprofits!
We make donations to the Outer Banks Relief Foundation and several other organizations including OBX Shred Fest and Dare2Care. We also collaborate with other local organizations, such as Hotline, to make resources and helplines for the LGBTQ community more accessible.
